The Mindful Trauma Therapist explores the intersection of Somatic Psychology and contemplative practices, highlighting how trauma-informed mindfulness can enhance one’s personal and professional life.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Experience somatic (body-based) mindfulness practices
  • Apply traditional meditation principles to psychotherapy
  • Understand trauma-informed care through a Polyvagal lens
  • Explore therapeutic modalities integrating Mindful Trauma Therapy

This course offers a foundational understanding of Polyvagal Theory, linking a variety of mental health presentations (such as anxiety and depression) to nervous system dysregulation. Students will learn to identify regulation and dysregulation in themselves and clients, thus enhancing their capacity in trauma-informed care.
