Emi Lenes, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the UF Counseling and Wellness Center, where she provides group, individual and couples counseling for college students, as well as supervision for counseling trainees in each of these practice areas. She is a licensed clinician and Qualified Supervisor for both Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy registered interns. Emi has been trained in specialized trauma-related modalities, such as Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). For over 20 years, Emi has been facilitating therapeutic groups in educational settings. Moreover, she has implemented creativity and healing activities at an inpatient crisis stabilization hospital. Emi deeply values being on the UF Mindfulness team and cherishes having been involved with the Center for Spirituality and Health since 2003. Emi has given professional presentations at international, national, regional, state, and local settings. Furthermore, Emi loves facilitating ceremonies such as weddings and memorials, and blessing circles for life changing milestones.
