Jeff Levin

An epidemiologist and former medical school professor, is a pioneering scientist and author whose research helped create the field of religion, spirituality, and health. His public talk was entitled “Epidemiologic Reflections on Spirituality".

Marilyn Schlitz

Vice President for Science and Education at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Senior Scientist at the Complementary Medicine Research Institute at the California Pacific Medical Center, presented “Intentional Healing: Exploring the Extended Reaches of Consciousness”.

Beloved spiritual teacher, author and co-founder of the Hanuman and Seva Foundations, spoke to more than 2000 of us about “Still Here”, his story of illness and spirit.

Transpersonal psychologist and Professor Emeritus at the Saybrook Graduate School, and colleague Doug MacDonald, presented an analysis of the challenges inherent in research on the topic of spirituality and health.

Physician at George Washington University College of Medicine and Director of Education for the National Institute of Healthcare Research, presented a lecture entitled "Spirituality and End-of-Life Care: A Time for Listening and Caring”.

Huston Smith

World-renowned scholar of comparative religions and acclaimed author of “The World's Religions”, presented a talk entitled "The Human Spirit in the Third Millennium: Light at the End of the Tunnel”.

John Fox

Certified Poetry Therapist, led a workshop on writing from spirit.

Saki Santorelli

Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and author, shared the Clinic’s experience with mindfulness as a therapeutic modality.

Robert Hall

Psychiatrist, poet, co-founder of the Lomi School for training in mind/body awareness, and teacher of vipassana meditation at the Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, CA shared his approach to health.

Hedy Schleifer

Orlando psychotherapist and breast cancer survivor and activist, described her journey through illness. Her husband, Yumi Schleifer, participated as well.

Elisabeth Targ

Psychiatrist at the California Pacific Medical Center. She gave two talks entitled, “Spirituality in Medicine and Psychiatry” and “Research in Pray and Distant Healing”.

Jacob Needleman

Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at San Francisco State University. He gave a talk entitled, “Healing and the Eternal Questions of Life” and a workshop entitled, “Health Meaning and the Soul”.
